Protect Yourself from Identity Theft

Your personal information can just be taken from you and you are at a loss with what to do next. You don&#39;t want to experience this situation but it pays to be prepared. Here are some safety tips:</font></font> </p> <ul> <li> <p style="margin-bottom: 0in" align="justify"> <font face="Arial, sans-serif"><font size="2">Every time you make a purchase, a receipt is given to you. These receipts carry personal information like your bank account, the amount you purchased and so on. Do not just throw them away. It would be best if you totally destroy the receipts so that no other information can be used.</font></font> </p> </li> <li> <p style="margin-bottom: 0in" align="justify"> <font face="Arial, sans-serif"><font size="2">Keep all your personal documents in a secure place. This includes your credit cards, identification cards, passport, driver&#39;s license, social security card and so on. If you are expecting to receive a billing statement or any mail from the bank and it has not arrived yet, it&#39;s best to call the bank and inquire about it. This holds true if your card gets stolen. Report it immediately. Carefully check the credit card statements for any unauthorized transactions. </font></font> </p> </li> <li> <p style="margin-bottom: 0in" align="justify"> <font face="Arial, sans-serif"><font size="2">Get a copy of your credit report and check for any unfamiliar transactions. </font></font> </p> </li> <li> <p style="margin-bottom: 0in" align="justify"> <font face="Arial, sans-serif"><font size="2">If you are planning to move, be sure to have all your mails forwarded to your new address. Keep all your personal documents in a safe place and be wary of emails or promotions asking for your bank account numbers.
